Why are we getting excited about a series that had its gimmick as something that is basically required in games now?
Not to say it'll be bad or anything, the Ape Escape games were still fun even without the novelty.

That's fine. For me though, and I'm sure for many other people, Ape Escape was a decent game that was mostly remembered for its use of the analog sticks. I still remember how awkward it was, and how my thumbs are probably deformed by now since it isn't painful to stretch them on the crappily designed dual shock/sixaxis controller anymore.
Not to say the game's not good without the gimmick, just never found it to be anything special.
