Falcom IR report on the deal between them and XSeed.

Also, there's a chance to see a remakes of Ys IV, V and (maybe one for) Ys Origin. All of this can happen if people buy a crapload of copies of Ys: The Oath in Felghana.

...man, I'm not joking when I say that if XSeed make a good ad campaign to sell Falcom games, they are going to have job for a looong time.

But, now that I remember... Ys V is kinda crappy from what I've read.

Info from Endless History.*

Ys III wasn't the most beloved entry either, but look what they did with it in Oath in Felghana. Besides, V laid the ground work for the better received VI and Oath.

You know, I was thinking the exact same thing after posting that about Ys V. But in the meantime, I would love to see the announcement of Ys Origin for the PSP.

Wow, look at all the new registers for this.

Anyways it looks like I FINALLY have a reason to pick up a PSP.

Donīt forget Crisis core, God of war and Metal Gear Peace Walker. Those are good reasons to get a psp.

Couldn't care less about God of War, Crisis Core would be nice if FFVII hadn't been retconned to hell and back, and PW is too lonely to make an entire console purchase for.

But then again, the games I've had my eye on for the PSP up until now were Dissida, VC2, Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles, FFT WotL, Wild Arms XF, Jenne de Arc (debatable given how underwhelming Level 5 has been lately), Persona Portable, and Growlanser PSP (if Atlus ever got off their collective asses long enough to localize that instead of Persona #1337 or something ARGH!!!).

It's not quite double the amount of the games (maybe only a quarter depending on how the Sora no Kiseki trilogy arrives as), but I would finally be able to feasibly construct a solid PSP library with this.

What exactly does that report say? All I see are dots. I assume it's a problem with Adobe on my end.

and does the Ys 4 and 5 thing apply to ours or Japan sales? Would love to see Ys 4 again, maybe 5 too. Only played a little bit of 5, have to say I liked the music in that one...

Your quote-fu needs a little work there pal.

But yeah, I'll +1 to hoping Growlanser PSP makes it over here.

So does yours apparently... Though that was typed up badly and needed an extra [ /quote ].

I can't read Japanese... not yet. :p

But it basically says the same thing of "We are going to bring you happiness in your life with 6 Falcom games, 3 from the Ys series and the other half from the Sora no Kiseki series for the PSP". You get the idea. ;)

and does the Ys 4 and 5 thing apply to ours or Japan sales? Would love to see Ys 4 again, maybe 5 too. Only played a little bit of 5, have to say I liked the music in that one...

Maybe. If Falcom like the sales of the Ys games outside of Japan they might want to reconsider to do the remakes. For now, only the Japanese copies of Felghana counts to support the cause.

Really, Falcom is a little company that sometimes you don't know what are going to show you next. But you can count with more Ys and great music in the future. That's reminds me... have you guys (and girls) seen the tracklist for Ys vs. Sora no Kiseki? It's spectacular!

New Tracks:
# D.A.Y./BREAK
# Childlike Eyes
# Blaze at My Feet
# Twilight Wanderers
# Get Over The Barrier! -Roaring Version- (From Zero no Kiseki)

New Arranges:
# Stopper (Legend of Heroes II)
# Rood Castle (Legend of Heroes III The White Witch)
# Octum's Wish (Legend of Heroes IV Tear of Vermilion)
# Limits of Power (Legend of Heroes V Cagesong of the Ocean)
# Overdosing Heavenly Bliss (Legend of Heroes VI Sora no Kiseki the 3rd)
# Soaring through the Melancholy Blue Skies (Gurumin)
# Advice - Come along to Mona's Shop! (Lord Monarch)

Arranges used on Drama CDs:
# Dragon Dive -The 'A' in Agate is the A' in Akage- (Sora no Kiseki - Tita Drama CD)
# ERNST (Ys 7 Prologue Drama CD)
# Rush Out! (Ys 7 Prologue Drama CD)
# What I Always Think (Sora no Kiseki - Klose Drama CD)

There's going to be more, I'm sure of it.

How can this thread be so idle? D:

Wonder if they'll consider releasing Ys vs SnK here, either way guess it'll have to wait until Sora no Kiseki is done anyway to have the full effect...

I wonder if they are gonna give any of these games box treatment like Lunar. The RPGamer article indicated yes, but the actual interview didn't seem to mention anything.

I'd like to play these games someday
though this adds another considerable amount of games to my already massive list of handheld games i want, as opposed to a fairly small (at least it pales in comparison) list of this generation console games that i'd like to play also
