Iīm a little worried, this games are great, fast and furious yet I donīt think they will sell good enough simply because of the lack of publicity. How many copies does Xseed needs to sells  on one title in order to be marked succesful?

I'm kind of worried too. I'm hoping X-Seed has a good fanbase that will guarantee that they will at least do good with these games.

There's a lot of Ys fans out there, they are just hiding his awesomeness to the world. :D

But seriously, I think that the big challenge for XSeed is not selling Ys games, is sell the Sora no Kiseki trilogy.

I don't believe Ys did too well for Konami, but then Konami likely wants higher sales than, say, Xseed, and probably didn't market it that well anyway. The fact they were actually going to outright replace a Falcom OST as the default was especially unwise on their part.

There's also Ys DS, but who the hell was going to run out and buy that when they announced Ys Chronicle just before release! Especially after seeing the gameplay footage.

There's a whole story behind Ys VI and Konami. But no one can deny that the game feels better on PC.

If the game was sold exclusively for PC *and* if they could put some effort for the port of the PSP version, maybe Konami could easily sell the game well at that time. And Ys for on the DS was "cute" to say the least, thank god that Ys I&II Chronicles is coming soon.

I'm more excited to play Chronicles than Felghana, or the remake of Brandish. :p

That's probably true. Ugh. I REALLY hope the Sora no Kiseki games sell well. I really loved the first one despite not understanding a word of it.

I kinda see it as... if NamcoBandai still thought it feasible to go through with their Legend of Heroes games, games that alienated the fanbase with weird changes and bad translations, then I'm sure XSEED can manage to go through 3 Legend of Heroes games that will most likely be very well received by it's fans.

It probably won't sell hotcakes, but I think XSEED knows that, I think they've proven they are not foolish. As long as they get the sales from the fanbase they are catering too, I think they'll do OK. Now, if the fanbase starts pirating instead of buying... that could be problematic.

Also, Falcom might be behind them giving them some support. I was tempted to ask that on their Facebook, but I didn't want to look like I was prying. Maybe it's something they don't or Falcom doesn't  want to disclose.

I imagine most companies licensing their games out are going to want to give some help in making sure they sell elsewhere.

LE was just revealed.

cloth map, artbook, CD.

The artbook has art from Ys 7, Oath, and I+II, so those probably will not get huge bundles, but will probably still get CDs with them.

Wow, $20 more? Still, those are pretty good extras, and given how risky this is the higher profit margin is probably justified.

Hmm, though I wonder if they could do the same thing as Digital Devil Saga's LE and produce a box for the Trails in the Sky trilogy?

Should I feel bad that the only Ys game I've played is the one for the SNES a couple lifetimes ago?  Because these newer versions are looking very sweet!

If you want to help them sell copies and you have 1) facebook account and 2) many gamer friends, XSEED made an "Official Ys Page" on Facebook. Joining that and inviting your pals might help matters.

That LE box looks nice. I particularly want the artbook. I want to get it, but funds are very low atm, so I might have to settle for just the game.
