Best FF recording evar?

This album is in CD version next month, but digital download is already available.
The 10 minutes arrangement of "Dancing Mad" from FFVI is awesome. It's orchestra+choir, and it's all four parts of the song, not just the end part where you fight Kefka. The whole tower of evil is musically represented.
And it's friggin' beautiful.
Amazing that it took to 2010 to finally have something like this exist. But um... yeah, awesome. I'm freaking out.
Expect review of this album on or around June 1st here @ RPGFan.

*drool*
About freaking time! The black mages almost had it right, but they just had to use them fake synth voices instead of hiring a proper chior
edit: I wish they would arrange pieces that have not been arranged to death already. Most of songs on the new album have been arranged atleast 4 times.

Yeah, the music is outstanding. I'm disappointed that they didn't really do anything with the victory theme though. 8 seconds? Really? Why even bother?
Dancing Mad is definitely the highlight of the soundtrack. As a whole however, I prefer the first Distant Worlds soundtrack.

Meh... having Dancing Mad is kinda cool (though the last section will always be ROCK), but the rest of the selection is strange. Some of it's been done before, many times, and some of it doesn't make sense for orchestra: Jenova.
Still waiting on orchestral recordings of Hunters Chance (FF9) and Legendary Beast (FF8)

It's funny that you brought that up, because it's appropriate... Jenova does not lend itself to orchestra well, at all. It's the last track, and by far the worst track. I made fun of the 8 second victory chime rendition, but it holds up better than Jenova did.

Dancing Mad will always be my personal favorite from Nobuo's Final Fantasy works. Diverse in style as well as exciting. Jenova's orchestral arrangement was really interesting, I don't think I would have gone down the route they did, but the piece was good. Man with the Machine gun was great, but I felt that it should have ended with a stronger climax than a sigh. Also, speed up at around 0:56? Rest of the piece was fine. I'm leaving the rest of the album to listen for another time, I'm sure themes like Terra, Prelude, and Zanarkand we'll still give me the same feelings the original gave me.

We'll I did arrange Jenova into an 8 minute Piano epic (actually caught on, with a number of people recording it on youtube), and it worked wonderfully. At it's core, it's an incredible piece of music, regardless of it's electronic nature, sort of like Man with the Machine Gun. It takes me by surprise to see it on that list though. I'll try to check it out as some point. Noone's gonna do it better than Black Mages though.

Thank you, thank you. If you like that, I've got a whole album that I did back in '05, check out my Freya arrangement, though over half of it is orignal material mixed in:
