The game sold 115,000 units its first week.......its been 1 year since then........ and I brought those numbers up to compare it against squares other top selling games

Oh fyi, thats over a million in sales right there. AND it sold out in japan after a few days.

It didn't sell 115,000 on it's first week and then again on every subsequent week. Sales decline sharply after release week, and that goes for 95% of games released.

Where does it indicate a million sales anywhere on that site?

Its called multiplication.......... multiply the unit number by 60 (which is what the game sold for in japan give or take)......IT SOLD 35000 the next week

60*115,000=$6,900,000 give or take........thats a very rough estimate but to say it didnt sell over a million for a ff title in japan is insane.

Oh, a million IN sales.

Well, even still, moot point. We can think of things in financial terms like this and still be talking about the same thing. All it does is inflate numbers because instead of counting by 1 we're counting by 60. The sales were still around 200,000 units.

Lol we're talking revenue? You realize that a game like Bayonetta is a multi million dollar project, right? Shit, most high end games are in the tens of millions in terms of development costs, and that doesn't even cover advertising. Why do you think every game has a million sequels?

Yeah, ok, we said copies though. Rather than clarifying you meant in dollars made you just kept saying 'over a million', making your posts misleading if not outright deceptive.

And if you do it in yen (which would make sense, being Japan and all), you can multiply by 100 again!

...but that clearly isn't what anyone else was talking about.

Well sales is the thing square enix looks at when determining when a game is successful and usually worth a localization.

It means demand met/exceeded expectations?  Really doesn't tell you what those expectations were, though.

again with stealth pulling stuff out of air!

first off , in week 2 of its release , only 35,000 were sold, then less after that. Final Fantasy  III ds and IV ds sold more then that,
also Bayonetta was no 1 during that week

This wasn't selling as well as other final fantasy games on the ds, even Crystal Chronicles on ds sold more.
