If Bush vetos the bill, he's only delaying the inevitable. While it doesn't have enough support in the House of Representatives to override a veto, it would provide supporting candidates with ammunition to use in the upcoming elections. I'm betting it'll be passed by next Spring.

I was thinking along those lines too.

The elections could get really interesting if stem cells and abortions are both hot topics of debate. With certain states putting downright obscene restrictions in place for the sole purpose of being challenged in the Supreme Court (just so they can get a SHOT at overturning Roe V. Wade), it wouldn't surprise me if this becomes an election powered by the female vote.

Things could get REALLY interesting if Condi is on the GOP ticket and Hilary runs (or becomes a running mate).
