I love the defective turrets so damn much.
Actually I love all the turrets.
The puzzles in the 1st part of the game are really fun. It seems they're more process oriented than the 1st game. "ok i have to get over there. then I have to do this. then i have to... yadd yadda"

Beat single-player yesterday. last night I attempted co-op with my wife (utter fail, she doesn't understand first-person perspective).
FORTUNATELY, I have in-laws. my wife's older brother came over today and we played co-op campaign for about 4 hours. We got to the beginning of the fifth section (which I think is the last: it's gels).
AWESOME.

Man, even that write-up is awesome. Here it is deciphered, by me.

Kudos to you, man - I gave up on it. :) They do good writeups at Woot, on shirts and non-shirts alike. Not portal-related, but here's a link to where you can see the rest of their currently-available shirts:
http://shirt.woot.com/Reckoning/
Also, I didn't realize Valve actually sells shirts:
http://store.valvesoftware.com/
(Note the "Three Turret Moon" shirt. Nice.)
And one more - a "real" portal shirt:

Finished single player. Man that was fun.
Does anyone know if there's anything to playing 1p again besides getting missed secrets and such?

Nothing as far as I know. Just secrets/achievements you missed out on the first time and the chance to listen to developer commentary.

In Chapter 6. Really digging the game. Only had to look up a walkthrough once so far, and I felt dumb for not yet having the answer.

Damnit, I got it wrong, I think I skipped a few lines in the middle. Looks like the start of a new logic puzzle style: Portal words.
Finished the single player the other day. That game is jazz, totally perfect. Though, probably my favorite part of the game was the middle section where you're in the basement... very Bioshock, though less sinister and more happy-crazy. I wasn't too sure about the final act though, the gravity beams were okay, but after the dark, broken basement, the final section felt too sterile, I would have liked another change in scenery. Though, it was fairly short. Loved the ending though... WOW. Who knew that Portal walls could be "anything" the color white! That was out-of-this-world!
Lol, it would be interesting to see a Portal game in an urban environment, though... fuck with people walking down the street!

That's what I love about portal. Occasionally you get stuck, but once you figure it out you don't feel cheated.
There were 2 or 3 where I was stuck for a few minutes. I can't remember the level/chamber exactly. I'll look it up and report back to see if those gave anyone else a hard time.
