I just watched an interview between GameTrailers and Reggie Fils-Aime (did I spell that right?) and he flat-out said that there are a bunch of Wii and DS games that they haven't even mentioned yet, that will show up later.

So there's hope? Yay~

It wasn't present on their release schedule that covered fall and some of next year. I'd have to see if any lists from prior E3s failed to include stuff that came out that Fall anyway, but I'm not very hopeful there. If they're still bringing it out it's more likely out next year.

As a pretty big DQ fan I'd prefer Xenoblade over DQMJ2. It's good we're getting it, but Xenoblade looks to be the kind of thing we need in console JRPGs this generation. AND it seems to have a lot of attention online and a lot of love in Japan so skipping it seems outright stupefying, even being this quiet if they do plan to release it is baffling.

I forgot about that. Heard it was underwhelming, and combining that with the packaging, yeah, I can see why they'd pass. Maybe they can put a new one on the Wii U where you can combine the best of the DS and PS3 versions, or even get around the bulky packaging by letting the tablet become the book.

That's what I think for games like Fatal Frame IV that turn out to be buggy as hell, or games that end up receiving limp importer/reviewer reception like ASH. This isn't one of those, having received exceedingly positive importer impressions and high user scores in Japan. By all accounts it's the real deal this time, something that'd actually be remembered by most past this generation.

... That, and it really does sound like what JRPGs need. Something refreshing from the gameplay angle rather than being another shallow DQ/FF clone.

I just realized. The reason Nintendo might be using is that the previous Wii RPGs didn't sell very well. Of course there were, what, two? Tales of Symphonia 2 which wasn't really that good, and Arc Rise Fantasia which had a rather bad translation and almost no advertising whatsoever. Of course, Namco Bandai seems to have the same opinion regarding the sales of Tales of Symphonia 2, so it may have rubbed off.

The PS3 version has possibly been confirmed, but the DS version never was.
