Crystalis. Seriously it's one of the most underrated rpgs/games ever imo. I would loove if SNKP gave it a 3-d makeover and remake treatment like Falcom did for Ys 3.
Some other games I'd love a next-gen remake of:
Romancing Saga 2 and 3
Final Fantasy 6
Ranma 1/2: Chougi Ranbuhen, the third Ranma fighting game for the SNES. I was playing this on the emulator the other day and it occurred to me how awesome a Ranma 1/2 2-d fighting game would be if it was done current gen/Capcom/SNK style with tons of characters from the series and awesome animation and graphics. Too bad such a game will most likely never happen. ;_;

If I had to choose:
Suikoden II
The Adventures of Alundra
Keep them in 2D. Hand drawn and coloured. Full screen HD. Orchestral soundtracks.
I'm against re-makes in general. I usually don't want to replay games that I have already played, just because they're in HD. The first time I played Suikoden II I was blown away at how powerful the story and characters are despite it being only in 2D.
I think I would only play a remake of it just to see how it turned out. It's not going to be an amazing experience again. This is why all of those people who want FFVII remade annoy me. Just leave it. The game is perfectly playable today and you'll only fucking moan that they got something wrong anyway.
It's a worrying time in the industry - how developers are getting us to play games we already own or have played before. I want to be playing new and original games, not remakes.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I don't even really care for remakes unless the original was majorly flawed (with that said, I do love the Star Ocean and Tales of Phantasia remakes). The only game I can think of that really needs a remake is...that I would actually play is...that I would actually go out and buy is...that isn't already getting a remake is...
I got nothing.:( Final Fantasy 2, SaGa 2, Romancing SaGa, Final Fantasy Adventure, Lufia 2, Tales of Phantasia, Star Ocean, SMT Persona 1 and 2(IS and EP), and Chrono Trigger are all the games that I wanted a remake for, and guess what: they already made them. Everything else I can think of is probably better off being left the hell alone.

Bane of the Cosmic Forge or Pools of Darkness.
I'd hate to see Suikoden II next-genned - there's nothing they could improve.

The Guardian Legend...
FUCK! That game is amazing. Noone's done anything like it since. Talk about a really interesting setup for a game of that time. It's probably the biggest standout game of my childhood, along with Mario 3. A remake would probably end up something like a cross between Metroid: Other M and Starfox. So full of opportunities though.
BTW: I thought that that game did an amazing job in terms of overall world expansion. Probably one of the best until a few generations later when Ocarina of Time came out.

I'm certainly in the FFVI, Xenogears, PE (by far one of my most favourite PSOne games. I played and beat it in one day once.) camp. Also I wouldn't mind Star Ocean 1 and 2 remakes.

I like remakes for the same reason I keep ordering Peppercorn Burgers from Keysey's Restaurant and never anything else... because I dont know if the new thing will be good, at least I'm positive it will be if I keep ordering Peppercorn Burger. :D
Narrow-minded? Yes. But it beats a bad meal though.

I can't really decide between Snatcher and Panzer Dragoon Saga but these games really need to be remade.

Didn't we already get those? I'm positive they're sitting on my shelf right now, and I don't think they're the originals.

While they may not really be the norm, there are some remakes that surpass their originals by far and are fantastic to play on their own terms. Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song and Ys: Oath In Felghana come to mind.

Hell yes.
Probably one of the coolest games for it's time and place.
