My copy of The 3rd Birthday came in the mail yesterday.  I guess after I finish Tactics Ogre, i'm going to go through PE1 and PE2 again real quick to refresh myself on the story.

Despite how horrible the story is(very), as I've heard, the gameplay is very solid.

Great music, too.

some friends warned me to stay away from this game because aya gets girlified later in the game. is that true? they used the analogy that she starts like a tiger and ends like a house cat.

She's nothing but house cat after the opening thanks to a character assassination that's nearly on par with Other M's various character assassinations. *coughBirdmancough*
duely noted i wont be buying this game then.

4 hours in and I don't think I can continue playing this game. Music is the only aspect of it I actually like. Gameplay got too damn boring. Story aint that good either and I can't recognize this Aya...

Please, someone, tell me the ending is worth it!

I hate when Japanese go for that sweet and helpless characterization.  I've heard the ending is a clusterfuck and hard to make sense of.

So it DOES have a little Square-Enix jRPG left in it after all!

It's not worth it.
But hey, at least the music is good. right ? right ?

I just decided to go through with it so I had no regrets when I decided I would never touch it again.

It's no secret that I love to shoot things. But this? The gameplay tended to get a little boring at times. The story is still confusing early on, but I have to admit, I'm interested in seeing what happens next. Considering what I'm hearing about the ending though, I'm not looking forward to it.

I ended up stopping for Mass Effect 2 in any case. Not a good sign.

I've been listening to the music for this while writing an essay today. The soundtrack is really good, but I still refuse to let my friend with the PSP play this.

There was a write-up at NeoGAF that explained the whole game away as being a fever dream.

I liked that explanation more.

I really think that's the only way they could save themselves from the disaster that they created with the story.  They dug themselves in a hole, and when I finished I immediately thought the only way to fix this would be to say it was all a dream.  And you know what?  I wouldn't be surprised if they tried that. haha.
