YES This deserves it's own thread holy shit. Some of the animations are great and the combat looks fun and unique.

The game has everything!
Big Bustling JRPG towns (Now with real time bumping to villagers action)
A boat ride attacked by monsters!
A guy with two belts!
Awesome JRPG hair!

I knew it! The Last Story is the Japanese RPG that I've been waiting for a long time (and the second reason to buy a Wii next year along with Sin & Punishment 2).

Now, I need to know if Last Ranker is going to be released outside of Japan and I'll be happy.

oh man this game is looking bad ass, especially the combat - it really blew me away while I was watching - more than button mashing and it looks like you'll need to really use some strategy.  I'm hoping the Wii controls function well for the game, I always worry about that.  And for a game that's on the Wii, the animations and overall look of the game is great.  Just, wow, I totally want to play this now.  Let's hope this fills the JRPG void most of us have been feeling lately!

Yeah the combat looks so awesome. It's like a blend of so many things that makes an action-system fun. I just hope the game holds up to be a long, epic adventure with a good story. If Lost Odyssey is any indication it should be pretty lengthy and at least have an enjoyable cast/plot.

The graphics only look OK to me. This could be done on a PS2 or Cube easily. Plus, it all looks decidedly brown.
Now the combat looks fun. Is this an action/rpg? Or more like FFXII?
Music sounds decent, but is that in the game or just a temp track?
Still, it;s nice to see a game like this on the Wii.

That looks fantastic. Exciting too. Knowing my luck it won't get a PAL release...

I had to laugh though when they were ducking behind cover. Made me think of Gears of War... haha.

DO WANT.

Battles look really fun. Music reminds me of the stuff on Ninety-Nine Nights, which is a good soundtrack!

And the best part of that trailer is that this game will never see the light of day outside of Japan just like every other Mistwalker game since Lost Odyssey.

I hope you like importing.

I thought she was humming, "Paint it Black" for a second there.

I wouldn't mind renting it, but nothing really struck me as "must have" in the trailer. The Wii is sadly showing its flaws with each passing year. I wonder if he just grabed a fistful of gameplay mechanics and threw them to see which ones would stick. I am curious about the game and would love to see more.

Combat looks quite cool.  Seems to have borrowed the kind of cover mechanic you see in all the 3rd person shooters these days (though this is definitely not a shooter).  I do hope we see this (and Xenoblade) outside of Japan.

Well, I haven't bought a Wii yet...maybe I'll just get a Japanese one.

Oh Uru, always mister negativity!

lol, I didnt mean for it to come out that way! I tried to end on a high note too...

Like i said, i would love to see more videos or more info before i get super excited and run out and buy a wii. I was really letting myself get taken aback by Xenoblade, until I saw a bunch of gameplay trailers. Maybe its a "fool me once..." type of attitude i now have towards games?

The games haven't come out yet though! Just be cautiously optimistic, it's good for the heart.
