Yes, kind of creepy how good some trolls are at their hobby.

Hopefully they will see the error of their ways and not require a real name, as it's to dangerous. I am all for cutting down on unprovoked trolling of people though.

Same here, this is like fighting a fire dragon on top of a volcano while its raining fire rain.

I am reminded of those stories you read about "True Names". It is a bit scary how much power you can have over a person by simply knowing their name.

And you're wearing your best-oiled piece of armor.  You know - the one with the cape and the paper-mache overlay for the helmet.

Do you guys think they will back down? Or are they going to try and tough it out to "make a point"?

I would guess they will give up on it but make it seem like they are not.

Maybe something like "We will keep the current system but allow you to hide your Real name and be known by a nickname"

I think the fear of losing money will win over trying to make a point.

Just my guess.

Man, they did a great job of making their point.

On the flipside, it's kind of creepy. I do feel bad for those people.

Do you think Blizzard employees get compensation for something like that? I mean, their personal information was compromised because of their work...

Under normal circumstances, probably yes. But in this instance, that fool "challenged" the internet, which is a huge fucking no-no.

If anything, the compensation will be going to the poor guy who suddenly got harassing phone calls from angry, socially maladjusted WoWer's, seeing as they got the wrong guy.
