My god, the comments on that website are all really evil. Every single person applauds the prison for doing this, or says, "Let them kill themselves... less taxpayer dollars I say". That's disgusting. I really hate it when everyone equates prisoners as violently evil beings. The large majority of prisoners are not in for violent crimes (most are in for drugs). Most aren't in for very long. And most could become productive members of society if they were given a chance... but they're not.

People are just cruel sometimes, they want to point the finger at other people and say, "they are bad, so I'm good... they will never be good". And then they kick them in the face.

The soul purpose of prison should be rehabilitation, IMO. It should be a means to an end: helping people to mend their ways so they cease to do harmful things to society. Retribution and cruelty do nothing to help society at large. Yet we spend millions of taxpayer dollars so that we can watch people get kicked around for no other reason than think, "glad I'm not them". That's sick.
