Er... crap, I was referring to Vesperia.

SO4's story is balls.

I'm playing it now and I don't even remember it.  Partly because I skipped every cutscene that exceeded two minutes (98%).
The battle system on the other hand...  Except, after getting Arumat in the party, I realized how I use Edge the least - how's that for breaking gaming convention?!

I loved Vesperia.  Dawn of the New World gets a lot of flack, but it was tolerable.  If anything, there is a lingering stench of "half-assed" that the game reeks of.  A shame after two years the original Symphonia cast couldn't change its wardrobe.  Or the fact that by the end of the game, I wasn't using the monsters they game prides itself on, or the stupid stipulation for achieving the best ending.
