Oh that. Is because the game was published by Atlus back in the day in Japan for the Sega Saturn, in fact, there's the same image with other characters from games published by Atlus and made by Vanillaware like Dragon's Crown and Odin Sphere.

Sega needed something about his bad business sense and self destructive nature, and Zynga needed a bit that mentions that he's recently pissed off EA.

Also it could add Squeenix as an old collage roommate you used to get high with but unlike you he hasn't moved on and instead is taking increasingly harder shit to maintain his high.

If that were true then either FFXIV would not exist or Squeenix would not exist (particularly after FFXIV). Squeenix is still sitting on mountains of cash due to being more of a production house rather than a game developer studio these days (even if their game developers are the most well paid in the industry currently).

I have this one buddy that's a fun time when you get him to actually commit to stuff but he's always flaky as hell. One famous time in high school we drove to his house to pick him up and he said he couldn't hang out because he had "medicine head."
