It's always crazy to me to think back on what we saw back in the day and thought "those graphics are amazing!"  And we were right, too.  At the time, they were.  I mean, look at the difference between this article about the best graphics on NES:

Ah,the nostalgia! Reading these has not only made me incredibly unproductive, but has also resulted in a dream-like "Games were so great back then" state.
SNES games, in particular, have aged better than any other system. A lot of the games STILL look great.
I wish we had gotten Seiken Densetsu 3. Is there an English translation out there somewhere?

I thought that with the Rayman one - the big lush graphics.... then the HD Rayman Origins kicked in with it's big field and charismatic cartoon creations and both made me happy.
