It's worth repeating. ;)

Only image I have for right now is this: http://24.media.tumblr.com/bb74e3be81ae46d217b98eaca119d983/tumblr_ms4a5bP8Xd1qh5srwo1_500.gif

I only link the address because the gif is short and has a flash in it, giving off a slow strobe effect. My only comment: Who's that 6th dancer???

I actually barked out a laugh when I saw this, then realized it was completely serious.

As a person with a degree in Spanish, I'm not really in much position to judge, but at the same time, they do have a point.  What do you expect to do with a degree in gender studies?  Teach gender studies is about the only thing I can think of.

With a degree in a second language you can easily do useful and productive translation work. Hell, I don't even HAVE a degree in a second language and I am fluent enough in a second language to do medical translating/interpreting, to say nothing of those who majored in another language. And while I give art students a hard time, at the end of the day they can at least create stuff I can appreciate, even if it's on a purely aesthetic level.

Gender studies? I wasn't even aware tripe like that is a major until today.

My rule of thumb is that if your major contains the word 'studies' is probably worthless.

For real fields it's generally self-evident that they're something you would study.

Not too long ago, most politicians here had theology diplomas.
Kind of scary when you consider that the people leading the nation bet on god to save them.

Then again, the fear of god may be what kept some of them from becoming completely corrupted.
