League of Legends

Hey all,

Wondering if anyone else plays League of Legends on these forums?

I just started a few weeks back and it brings me back to my college DOTA days.

Bring this back since I recently started playing. Strangely I seem to find the 'popular' map, Summoner's Rift, rather boring. Dominion is far more my style. Anyone else still hanging onto this or have they moved onto other MOBAs? XD

Waiting times are pretty nice. And I can see why friend-play would be preferable. I just hit 20 a few days ago and have been using the Tribunal. Some of these players are...wow. Talk about high-strung. XP

XD Lol; I haven't even touched Ranked yet. Personally I think I'll just stick with Dom and see if they add Ranked Dom in S3 since I seem to do pretty well at it.

Sounds about right, mobas have a reputation for having some of the worst gaming communities you can find. Its usually a mix of trying to push the blame onto your team and general ego stroking. Sometimes someone actually does deserve it, but its usually blown way out of proportion. Not everyone is like that, but these games tend to bring out incredible rage out of people.

I find it seems to be more prevalent as I'm going up in level; makes me wonder if it's grouping me with more 'advanced' players or something. All I can say is thank goodness I had enough interest in the game to watch some of the major event videos and do a little studying about tactics before playing some Normals today. All of a sudden SR has gone from a generally quiet, everyone do what they can to win group to 'everyone follow the meta and here comes the blame game spam at the 5 minute marker'. ._.; I could actually feel the game whip-lashing from the jump in crowd it's pairing me up with. And it's not like any of these people bother to explain any of this stuff either. XP

Yes, it does. The hardest part will be around level 30 where you get paired with maxed out players but don't have the rune builds yet. Problem with mobas is that you can't just pick a champion and play. If you lock too early you'll get shouted at, if you don't build your champion accordingly you'll get shouted at,  If you fall behind you'll get shouted at, if you don't do the exact thing your class should be doing at any given point in the game, you guessed it, you'll get shouted at. Its not that the shouting is always unjustified, its the way its conveyed that's the problem. These games are based around surgeon like teamwork precision, so after 45 or so minutes of struggling tension tends to be high.

LoL's tribunal really helped. It used to be much worst than it is now.
Of course, no one can ever get rid of jerks completely according to the notion of John Gabriel's Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory.

Although, personally, I do despise when people keep dying in the early game... why can't you hug your turret, it'll love you back.

Orianna's my go-to girl for Dominion. XD It took a while but I finally learned her ranges pretty well and with my CDR-AP build she can spam speed and detonate her Ult every 59 seconds. Unfortunately she's so 'team based' that if my teammates drop the ball (Ha...totally unintentional) it's hard to pick up the slack. >.<

Still trying to figure out who I like for SR. Been trying Kog Maw but Last Hitting still doesn't click well for me.
