I was using Stumble Upon on Firefox and it stumbled me to this huge list of RPG cliches. I thought it was pretty funny.

The best time to do side quests is while the huge meteor hovers in the sky above the planet, waiting to fall and destroy the world.

I cannot remember if it is on the list or not, but one cliche is violence solves everything and I mean everything.

How times haven't changed, eh?  148-151 (The Gender Equality ones) still crack me up.  129 (Second Law of Fashion) still remains and is as ridiculous as ever.  Yeah, the chain mail bikini does a lot to protect the belly from a disemboweling slash or thrust.  125- no matter how poignant the "Couldn't sleep either, huh?" moment in a storyline is, I snicker.  

EDIT: I just know there is a bad pun somewhere about "butted chainmail" here somewhere.

It's funny you bring this up, as the fairly recent Atlus game The Dark Spire actually had the Bikini Armor as the single best piece of equipment in the game, and hilariously it was gender-neutral.

Ha! I forgot about that. That's the best armor in the game? I got it so early, though.

That also reminds me of the female Troubadours in Etrian Odyssey. The art work had them in bikini tops. That just made me think: how does armor made of normal cloth survive fire attacks?

Some rural towns in the 80s probably did that already.
