Why would the heroine just leave halfway through? That doesn't even seem worth doing from a developer's perspective.

Because the rest of her story is DLC and they can also add her back into the team in a couple of years when they do the DC version of the game.

Man, after Vesperia (and right after), Tales team got money hungry.  DLC: It works!
Definitely not the best 'work around' to explaining why Alisha is so absent, but I can't say I really care the way the rest of the world feels almost dramatically 'lied to' and 'deceived' about it; but I agree the circumstances around it sound dubious at best.  I just guessed she was always meant on this path to 'leave' (definitely not so 'unceremoniously' though) but she'd pick up the game at a part II or whatever DLC....  I was half-right.

People who have played the game sniff the remnants of a possible second title as well, but we'll see.  I'm sure the Tales Fest will be interesting as far as what's next to milk the franchise.

Sorry, I don't mean to sound so bitter, but I feel like Baba and co are being kinda shady these days and barely doing a good job to hide it.  Like they're keeping a door shut, with "evidence" stuffed behind them and about to burst open.

History, more like. :P

Oh yeah, I forgot the 10,000 pieces of costume DLC on the Vita store for Tales of Hearts. They are DLC sluts it would seem.

I remember seeing how many DLC costumes for Graces f there were on the Playstation store after I got the game and being miffed about it. Wasn't it nearly $5 per costume? I can't remember.

Yeah..... yeah Tales costumes are INSANELY expensive.  And I LOVE having new costumes in my RPGs, so...  that hurt.  Had to pick and choose.

I'm quite glad I don't give a flying fuck about what costume my character's wearing.
Curently playing Xenoblade 3D. I mostly just see them as an inconvenience.

I imagine this is how any English conversation goes with the Tales' team:

"So what did you do over the weekendia?"
"Oh not much, just ran some errandias, like a trip to the groceria and dropped some dressias off at the laundromatia."

Silly naming scheme aside (though, I always liked how "Tales of the Abyss" suck out for having no "-ia" at the end actually featuring the word "the").

Anyways, anyone else get a little excited when on the eve of a game announcement or the very first 'reveal'?  It's odd but sometimes the mystery when you barely know anything shows a lot more promise than what the end-product can sometimes deliver.  Or just the excitement can get to ya.  So hey, bring it on, I'm always curious for what new characters and worlds would look like.

Like seeing the Pokemon starters?  WOO. Excitin' stuff.

Anyways, my money is on "Alestia" for sounding the least ridic. and most 'game-y'.

Plot-wise that game was a complete success (IMO). Any replays are for the sheer depth of it alone and seriously unreplicated by any other Tales title

Why are you arguing with yourself? All Annubis was doing was pointing out how much your comment suck out at him.

Maybe the next Tales of game should be called, Tales of Suckia (and stars Mr. T; "I pity the fool who don't play this sucka!").
