Woooohoooo, looking forward to getting a PS4 now. We need to see some pics to see how much better it'll look!

Given that the latter was a remake of a DS game, I'm not surprised (for reference, the N64 could've outperformed the DS).

I don't actually think that's it. I looked through a lot of pics of the DS version and I really think it's because they changed the camera angle but left the environments the same. They were designed to be looked at from above whereas when you get a sweeping shot across a whole town, they just look kinda unnaturally designed. Like a set of buildings have just been dropped into segments next to each other. Some DS games were designed for those kinds of wide-open views and would look fine in this kind of remake, Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals comes to mind.
So I guess that half-contradicts my claim that they've lost skill in their artwork. But that's the impression I got from looking through the DS pics.

Hot damn that was a long wait for something we already knew.

I kinda want it on PC to hope someone makes a mod or two... or eight.

Is that release date for North America as well?

Good question seeing all the love EU's been getting lately.

Hope they go back to graces f battle system.

That was my favorite of the series.

http://gematsu.com/2015/06/tales-zestiria-announced-ps4-pc-release-date-set

From the sound of this, basically everybody but NA and Brazil will be seeing this on Oct 16, while NA will get it along side the Steam version on Oct 20 and Brazil brings up the rear on Oct 23.
In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.

Bandai Namco Europe has been really pushing their products. Hideo Baba nearly lives here during the summer what with all the events he goes to, they share releasedates in a very timely manner and so on. (Fun fact: I've heard some editors at publications say they're not quite sure what to do with BNE's... enthusiasm. Like, do these games actually sell? To an audience that also reads their magazine/website?)

Hopefully the Symphonia port will get unlocked sooner rather than later since it'd be nice to get a free copy of Zesty with my upgrade to Symphonia HD.

You may want to pre-order the game on Steam right now if you are Canadian (or anywhere where your money is shit)
It's 50$ US worldwide currently meaning 55$ Canadian.

That's pretty much 15$ off what the real Canadian price should be.

Actually, it seems the game is just cheap all around.
New Tales pricing model?

^ xD  Thanks for trying to look at Canadian pricing though

I think the more important question is if they fixed any parts of Zesty or is it a straight port?
But honestly, my love for Tales games makes me stupid happy that the older titles are finding a home on Steam!

EDIT: http://blog.talesofgame.com/en/japan-expo-zestiria-collectors-edition-revealed-pre-order-bonus-symphonia-for-pc-and-more/
More on the standard/collector's editions which fortunately mention that Alisha Chapter and bonus Mystic Artes as Free DLC.

Call me crazy but I fully expect the "Tales of" catalog to slowly make its way to PC when Namco sees the Zesty numbers.

I think that's the point of this move.  No one even asked for Tales of Symphonia to be there, so...

Vesperia, I think will definitely be a matter of time as well.
And, god willing, Tales of Destiny PS2. :P

30 FPS on PC

I can hear TotalBiscuit's blood pressure shoot up.

(Meanwhile, my laptop is like: Haha. No. 10fps if you're lucky. Go play some more RPG Maker games)

In any case, I wonder how the game will be recieved on Steam. Looking at other Japanese consoles games that found their way there, people fall into two camps: the people who are just happy they can play those games (and would love to have even more) and disapproving representatives of the PC master race.
