Shitty hell. And I gave my bro my DS for a bit. For an RPG no less (in other words; 20-30 hours of gameplay spread across weeks). Maybe I'll make a trade back when I'm done Tales of Eternia and get him Tactics Ogre for PSP or something.
I bet he lends it to his chick and then they break up

I'm almost laugh-y from a comment like that... it's sad.

What do you guys think of Yoko Shimomura's work? It almost tops her best soundtrack in my opinion and that's "Legend of Mana". I don't think nothing can top that.

The soundtrack is very good - but nothing is going to top LOM.

I think I'll start it now then. Of course my attention is on Mass Effect 2 for the second time but sometimes I feel I want something a little easier as I'm playing ME2 on Insanity.

I'd like an opinion from you guys. I just got Radiant Historia but didn't finish Dragon Quest IX. Actually, I barely touched DQIX.
The thing is I'm not the biggest fan od DQ games as I feel they usually become somewhat boring when reaching the end of the game.
My question, should I finish DQIX or jump straight to Radiant Historia ?
Jump straight into Radiant Historia. 8 hours in and holy shit it keeps getting better. Not to mention the story is great so far. Awesome MC too.
This game is in my honest opinion the best DS rpg available now. I highly recommend stopping anything else you're doing and play it instead. It's incredibly well done, though I do recommend not completing everything, as the real ending is kinda typical RPG fare, the basic ending is much better I think (in a story sense, feels more heroic). In any case, this story trumps any DQ story by a mile.
I think this is my main problem with DQ games: the story. At least in DQVIII we had some somewhat interesting characters but in IX all we have is a fairy.

I don't see why you'd want an online guide. Most areas are pretty small and the hints about how to fix your mistakes aren't all too vague. Of course I'm only 8 hours in, so what would I know? Maybe it gets harder.

You're right the main story probably doesn't need a guide. Mainly only wanted it for the side missions, since I'll most likely be to lazy to do the work on my own.

Can you offer some spoiler free advice on how to do that? I'm interested in seeing all the endings, so what does the game look for to assign an ending to the game and how many are there?
I know I could look up a guide, but I don't want to ruin anything.

As far as I know, don't complete EVERYTHING, and you don't get the true ending. If I say much more regarding it, I may blow story up.

I just finished the game a moment ago with about 198/236 events done altogether. Talk about a major sleeper hit alongside a killer remake with Tactics Ogre. February was a great month for both handhelds.

Damn. You guys are making me want to stop playing EO3 and play this instead. But I can't! I told myself I wouldn't do that anymore.

I'll support your EO3 quest. Not for everyone, but I loved it, and got completely devastated when my DS Lite got stolen last year alongside EO3. A DS is easy enough to replace, but all that time spent on EO3, doing endgame stuff, that killed it for me.

I'm almost 4 hours in and have to agree with everybody in this thread. This game is really, really good. Perhaps the best DS JRPG I have ever played, but I will reserve my judgment for later.
