Fought said guy again just now, not worrying about item use as much and regearing for defense/mdef. Stocke 62, Raynie and Marco 60, and after 20 minutes of elegant planning each turn, I beat him. Physical attacks are worthless, go for magic, and don't bother using your third tier bursts as they're not very damaging against these guys. I used turn break when ready, and just unloaded g spells. Stocke was my item whore, healing every turn and topping off mp/curing status effects. Raynie was nuke duty, and Marco was my ace in the hole. Emergency double heal when needed, stat buff/shield seed when not, trans-turn to Raynie when everything was smooth. I'll give a fair bit of advice to anyone who's fighting the master right now (complete with no spoilers).

Do NOT worry about using you super awesome items. If you can beat this guy, the final boss is cake. Make sure you win this fight, cuz what you get is soooooooo worth it. Good luck, and for the record, aht stinks!

I agree and thanks for all of this! =D

I've actually grown fond of Eruca's Divine Light for some fights.  Fucking hell, this game has seriously made good of balanced characters.  I NEVER KNOW WHO TO PICk.

I can see why people complain so much about Aht now. As the game goes on she crumbles easier and easier and the HP gap gets larger and larger. She still does great magic damage, but only if you can keep her alive.

I'm in love with this game. It has REALLY grown on me. The only little thing that would be nice is if there was a way to mod it so that Stocke didn't have to stay in the party at all times. He's nice and balanced, but he's not the most... interesting character in battle. That's also my main complaint with FF7 (I'm making this thread follow the board's rules).

Still, this game is amazing.

There was a point in the game where you could make any 3 person party in FFVII, if I'm not mistaken.

Well now you went and spoiled it for me. What's the point of playing now?

Well there went the 20 hours of my life I'd spent on it.

I'm just going to cry myself to sleep tonight...

Oh my. I am SO sorry! I was under the impression that you had already played it and you just didn't know you could do that. Your previous post made no hint that you were in the middle of playing the game.

I'm confused. Are we still being sarcastic?

It wasn't a game spoiler at all you know.

I thought so! I reread what I wrote and I thought, why is this a spoiler? But he seemed serious, so I decided to apologize anyway. My written sarcasm detector is not very good sometimes.

There's no tone in what we do here; it's not a matter of detection unless someone is exceptionall good at writing like a twat (ie; sarcastic).

If you can write with your twat, I want to marry you.
