They who? RPGFan? As excited as I am for it (and the movie) it's not exactly an RPG, so there really isn't a reason for those that went to have written up about it, and I've seen places elsewhere talking about it anyway.

It's still worthy of a side comment (heck, this > Kinec) ;)
This is the first time that I've ever been interested in a game about a movie... since those usually blow.

Yeah, I've seen lots of coverage of this game (and it looks great), but I wouldn't really expect that from RPGFan.

Abused my powers to hijack this thread! Game's out now on the PSN and I've grabbed it. I'd probably like it way more if I played with someone else and I'd have happily paid $5 more if it had online co-op, but I probably just need to spend more time with it. Sure looks fantastic though!

It seems to me that this game really needs co-op and without the online option I'm not sure if I'll pick it up.

Yeah, bunch of dumbshits for leaving the online co-op out. Should have been an obvious feature.
At the very least they should patch it in. Streets of Rage 2 is a blast on XBLA. I'd be more than happy to trash motherfuckers on this game over PSN.
I bought the game anyway. $10 for classic street brawling is a no-brainer for me.

It does have RPG features too, much like River City Ransom and Castle Crashers, so this isn't like buying TMNT and having a fairly bland game to play all alone. Still, Castle Crashers shows that pretty much any excuse short of not having good netcode at their disposal (which I doubt given they remade Turtles in Time) would've been pretty weak anyway.

Haven't put much more time into it since I got beaten pretty badly in World 2, and the game's somewhat dumb with 1ups in a case of being TOO close to the adapted source... and not replenishing them for when I finish a stage or session.
Anyways! For anyone that's become interested in Scott Pilgrim the comics are on sale on Amazon currently,
here's the first book.

Played this game at a friends house.
It's a competently put together game, however, I feel that the action could have been a bit more fast paced. I guess I am spoiled by modern action games. Damn you Mikami and Kamiya!
The best part of the game is the art style. My god, so good.
Still, I would have killed to have a more feature heavy game. I certainly would have paid $5 for it too. Imagine if the combat was a bit more fleshed out and then there was a plethora of more meaty RPG elements to give the game tons of replay value.
Guess I'm a gamer that always wants more :)

Played this with some friends and love it. The music, art, and humor are all top notch.
From what I understand the lack of online features is due to a rushed schedule.

I finished tha game last night, and towards the end - if you've been eating food and buying items to increase your stats - the combat and your movement speed is much better. You move faster, you have more moves and do more damage with and without weapon items. For the first few boss fights I'd have trouble getting through them with max lives and health, but later on it's easy to finish a boss pretty fast with 1 live and very little health.
Give it time, and you'll get to a point where it becomes great. Like so many other people say, "where's the online play?" It was screaming for it, surely? I'd wager a rushed released to coincide with the movie release, or something.
