I figured it was gonna happen. All three albums from them were amazing!

A shame. I thoroughly enjoy their work. Oh well, at least they won't go the way of Metallica. SHUDDER.

I own the first two, but never got around to buying their last album. Wasn't as epic as the first two, but still amazing!

Ahh well, I think they started losing steam anyway. The first one was a masterpiece, what they did with each track was absolutely outstanding. The production was better on the 2nd and 3rd (no more obvious V-Drums), and in some ways, the track listings were better, but they didn't do as interesting things with the music as on the first album. They managed to fall flat on the one tune that I thought that a band could never fuck up, "The Extreme", on the third album. Every tune that I wanted to got a arrangement, with the exception of "The Dark Messanger," which was fairly obviously missing.
The only thing that bothers me is that Uematsu said that they were working on a completely original album. I'd really love to have heared that, because I think Uematsu would be great at writing a progrock album from scratch. I really wanted to hear that, but it never happened. Hopefully his new band will do more of that.

Me too, specially because I really enjoyed the new track on their last album.

You mean that final track? That wasn't really even a Black Mages tune. It was just solo piano, right? I thought it was kinda weak myself. I was hoping the one new tune would be a full band rock thing, maybe even an epic.

No, not that one, there's another original track, I think it's either track 3 or 4.

Hate to break it to ya, but all the tracks except the very last are from the games. You're probably thinking of "KURAYAMINOKUMO" (track 5), which is an arrangement of the Final Battle from FF3. Don't know why they gave it that name though.

I was under the impression that distant worlds was an original track. Nevermind, don't know where I got that from. I really dig that song though.

Naw, it's just from a game that few of us have played because not all of us are into MMOs.

This is sad news for me, not to mention that I was waiting for more arrangements of Final Fantasy IX and XI from them. Hunter's Chance, Matoya's Cave and Vamo' allá flamenco are going to be in my music player forever.

They will surely be missed but never forgotten. You never know, they will probably come back eventually......
