And by soon, I mean next week
http://www.destructoid.com/bioshock-developer-revealing-new-game-trailer-next-week-180468.phtml
The codename for that project reeks of originality, "Project Icarus". But hey, those guys can't make a bad game, can't wait to see what this'll be.

that trailer had an awful load time for me
well, it was actually painfully slow even if I left it "loading" for a few minutes or tried to go back
ended up watching it on youtube instead

I approve of this. It's like Teddy Roosevelt meets Jules Verne.

Holy shit fuck. I'm SOLD!
I really hate it when game developers introduce a franchise, and instead of expanding their ideas out to other areas, just milk the original idea, that's what Bioshock2 was (and why I didn't play it). But that was 2K, This is Levin. This will be amazing. I love airships and sky cities. Fewer games than you would think have them. Fuck, it's Bioshock meets Skies of Arcadia. What's there not to love?

The 2012 release window is pretty far though, but I guess it makes sense since they were still working on some DLC for Bioshock 2. Still, this means they're probably not far in development and it'll take months or more to get more details about the setting/story/gameplay :/

Only 2years away. Bioshock 1 was first revealed and took 3 years since the announcement. Either way, Can not wait for this game. Time to start the slow marketing masturbation from Ken Levine's lovable geeky voice until 2012.

Skyoshock.
It didn't really need a sequel, and this doesn't seem any more necessary than Bioshock 2 was.
I'll try and keep an open mind until I know more about it however.

What really interests me is the idea that they're eschewing the 'talk to NPCs behind a window' approach that Bioshock 1 (and 2 to a degree) took and are apparently mixing them in with the world more... with NPCs that may or may not be friendly, likening it to the Wild West. Although it's probable that it'll be dumb and simplistic in execution it still means it's a significant gameplay gimmick that
hopefully
keeps things interesting, or at least from feeling too samey.

if a game sells well like games in this series do, companies would likely think "WE HAVE GOT TO MAKE A SEQUEL FOR THAT GAME, OMFG"

I thought they were doing something else too, especially with how they hinted it last week.
But hey, this might not be so similar to Bioshock, not unlike Bioshock itself wasn't so similar to System Shock.
