Puzzle Quest 2 Ds or Dragon Quest 9 Ds. Has anyone played both?

Which is best? We have a few weeks wait for Puzzle Quest 2 here in the UK.

Dragon Quest scored a not so impressive 80% here at RPGFan.

Have you played the prequels to either? I'd recommend Dragon Quest based on playing through IX and what I played of the first Puzzle Quest, but your thoughts on those are the ones that should really be deciding your decision. Do remember that DQIX's been favorably reviewed elsewhere too, both of the reviews on RPGFan are actually on the lower end of the scale.

I enjoy Puzzle Quest, but I'd probably vote for DQ9, if you think you'd like either game.

The guys talked about DQ9 on the latest podcast episode, and what they said made me really interested in it.  Might be worth listening to, to help you make the decision.

I just won Puzzle Quest 2 today and I'm playing DQ9 now. Get DQ9. Puzzle Quest 2 has better gameplay, but everything else kinda sucks about it. Story especially. It makes PQ1's story positively epic, it's that bad.
