Catherine's apparently too hardcore for Japan.

Did they forget this was an Atlus game?

Those noobs can cry me a river.I guess with an "easier" patch they can shut up though.

The demo might have been easier, y'know?  Who's to say the game doesn't get stupid hard and fast-paced?

Consider me skeptical.  If that many complained to warrant a patch, then I'm thinking the game might actually be a bit of a fuck in the ass.  I know I'd complain, these types of games make me nervous... and I guess if the gameplay is as basic as a moving-block, tower-climber, Atlus saw fit to make it a hard one... probably on par with NES puzzlers.... brrrr..

Well, I won't judge until I play it. For all we know most of those complaints came from people who do not normally fit the demographic (eroge otaku who mostly only buy eroge/Vn and got lured in by Catherines art style and premise). For Petes sake, people are generalizing a races gaming habits off a few bitchers.

I wonder if some of those people were busy fapping to certain character art (boxart, etc) while playing it.
maybe, or maybe not.

What does this mean for a potential US release? Will we see a dumbed down version?

Unless the game is actually broken I don't think so, keep in mind that usually the easy difficulty of the western version of a lot of games corresponds to the normal difficulty in the japanese version.

My beliefs are rocked to the core.

I thought Japanese took their shit seriously. Or is that only certain genres, like fighting games and rape simulators?

I bet that Catherine is like playing Tetris with all the pieces falling really fast. With that said, the arcade game "Rapunzel" that is in the bar in the game it is suppose to be even harder, at least that what I remember reading a few weeks ago.

Also, I can't believe that Japanese gamers are crying over this. What the hell happen? This is the country of Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, DoDonPachi and fighting games. I'm disappointed. :(
