I haven't decided if I want to start something up or not. Part of me wants to organize something, while the other doesn't want to deal with drama. Then again, my usual way of dealing with drama is to just run with "fuck you" and people rage, so maybe it won't be so bad.

Was really looking forward to this, but with EA at the helm I'm starting to have my doubts. At least I haven't seen any clips of devs announcing that they "bound all game keys to AWESOME!" so that's a good sign.

Maxx: That wasn't a developer who said that, that was one of their marketing guys.

Was it? Should have known, my bad. Its still fairly amusing considering how much of a disappointment DA2 turned out to be. I only played the demo, but lest just say that I pressed a lot of buttons and didn't get a whole bunch of "awesome" in return. Hoping Old Republic will be up to par with the original games though.

Reviving the thread. In case you live under a rock, pre-orders for this game are open. The collector's edition runs for a hundred and fifty clams. Pretty crazy.
Yeah, I ordered the CE the moment it showed up on Amazon. I'm ecstatic.

Would be nice to have a definite release date before they promise something like early playing.

Yeah I think it's funny how they have multiple pre-order's yet no release date. Unless they are just waiting for something, I don't understand. That or they are currently having trouble with it so they want to keep working out bugs, etc.
With a Beta for what, September? I have to wonder what is going on. Or is there truth to a December launch(since that's when galaxies is going bye bye.) In any case, whenever they do release it, of course I'll play it. I have a deep devotion to Bioware/Star Wars so we shall see!
The only bad part is the worst time to play an MMO is the beginning because all the problems will still be there :(

The game'll probably be out in October. September is when they start doing "beta weekends" where they plan to stress test the servers. Stress tests tend to happen right before launch. It'll definitely be out before Black Friday, that much is obvious.
EA's CEO said about a month ago that they haven't announced a release date because they don't want to show their hand and have Blizzard try to drop some kind of miracle content update to compete and draw attention away.
