The history of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is now so complicated that every time I tell it I contradict myself, and whenever I do get it right I'm misquoted. So the publication of this omnibus edition seemed like a good opportunity to set the record straight--or at least firmly crooked.

So now the only two anime/manga dudes I actually liked are *both* dead.

This week fucking sucks.

I'm not into anime, it doesn't seem very targeted towards me, however Perfect Blue and Millennium Actress will always be two of my favourite films of all time.

This is really sad.  If you guys ever want a quick watch - watch his segment in the 3-part Memories on YouTube.  Magnetic Rose is the shortest and best way to explain why this guy was awesome.

I hope they still go ahead with his current project anyways.

That is a major bummer. I loved Paprika, and enjoyed Paranoia Agent. I should go see more of his works.

I didn't think his condition was this serious...

One of my top favourite directors and one of the pioneers of excellent animation. I watched everything this guy made, and just recently watched Magnetic Rose which was the best short-film in the Memroies compilation. His work was always different and unique so whenever he makes something I get excited because I know it's gonna be something magnificent and unique whether it was the animation or direction.

I have a feeling anime will continue its downfall even faster now. This is some very sad news.

Master Satoshi, you'll be missed.

As the link reads, Satoshi Kon's last words.

I can never imagine how I'd live knowing I'd be dying in a few months. Very sad read.

I have that on VHS. It's a fantastic film.

I'm not big into anime myself anymore, but Satoshi Kon is definitely a name I remember. Perfect Blue is most definitely one of my favorite works from him. R.I.P.

I'm late in hearing the news about the late Satoshi Kon. Paranoia Agent is probably my favorite anime ever. Shitty.
