I think anybody angry would be just as angry if the game were to be on the Wii or the 360.

Nah, those are different, especially the 360. The PSP is a handheld that can easily be a compliment to your console, and if you're a Sony/handheld fan then it's a non-issue. A 360 exclusive sequel on the other hand would be a maddening business decision, you have an established fanbase on one console and you're now telling them to buy a potentially redundant system to play the sequel, especially if the sequel is the only thing they want to play on the system. At least if all you wanted was VC2 on the PSP it'd only set you back about $100 rather than $200+, and you're more likely to find games you'd want to play such as the Falcom titles and the aforementioned Birth by Sleep if you don't absolutely abhor KH.

I dont think anyone wants the exclusivity to change, just multiplatform access so everyone can enjoy the game.

Really? What are the sales figures for VC PS3? I don't remember it breaking six figures, which is ridiculously low for a current-generation game.

e: Never mind. As of 2008 the game has sold 153,002 copies. Still pretty low, some Xbox 360 JRPGs in Japan sold more.

Oh I see. Still not huge sales, but probably AT LEAST profitable.  94k in the first week, 24k in the second week, then it fell off.

The series still deserves better.

Are those the figures of VC2 in japan? Man, that's a pretty big drop after the first week, there are a lot of PSP's in japan, I was expecting a lot more than that and I'm pretty sure the folks at sega were expecting more too. The move to the psp shows that they were betting on the japanese market, if it didn't sell well there I'm pretty sure that world wide sales on the PS3 would have been higher.
Yet another reason to release 3 on the PS3. I think it will easily reach those same figures in japan and perform a lot better in the west.

That`s for the standard edition. It got a re-release around the same time the anime came out which hanged in the charts for quite a while(the game, not the anime). The combined number I saw pop up on NeoGaf last was around 250,000, which is more than most of the games by this team(especially Skies of Arcadia which, I think, didn`t even crack 100k).

Y'know I've seen utter nerd rage (no offense meant) over the fact that VC II was placed on the PSP...why? Kingdom Hearts (a game with a larger fan base) has done perhaps one of the most alienating console hops as far as I can recall (PS2 to GBA to DS to PSP to 3DS) and yet I have seen far less "OMG it's on a different console!" outcry than I have for this game. ._.; Sense this is not making.

Lol, I need to retract the above statement. Now that Birth by Sleep is out and getting decent reviews the PSP hate is out in full bloom.
