It's worth it just to resell it alone probably (or hold onto it for later).

Yeah, I think it's worth it if you're a SMT fan.  The story is kinda wack but it's still fun as hell to play.  It was weird how I wasn't crazy about the story, yet I always wanted to know what was going to happen next.  Gameplay and music are sold as well.

As the reviewer in question, looking back on scores I set almost five years ago?

No, I didn't overrate them.

Your reviews pretty much sold me on the series.  The ratings are definitely correct.

Wow... DDS 1 & 2 are the best RPGs of the decade!? Talk about fate pure coincidence.

I only checked the list a moment ago, and finally finding those two games almost simultaneously with the posting of the list is kinda... ummm.. FUCKING POETIC!

Anyways, got the games now so thanks to all of you guys.

Puzzles aren't anything deep; I do hate the dungeon where that tit-horse-monster follows you, though.

I think the puzzles were better in the..first game. As were the dungeon designs. That whole chase thing in DDS2 scared the shit out of me, hahaha.

For real though, you won't regret getting the games. :) Like I said in my writeup, they make up a near-perfect game IMO. One thing that keeps it from perfect is that Engrish song, another was...well, the end of 2 is a little odd. Dunno about horrible, just definitely odd. Still there's a reason they came first on my list.

So... enjoy?

People don't like the DDS2 opening? I love it. It hits all the right chords.

And on my replays, I found I liked DDS1 more than 2. Something about the atmosphere.

Since we're sharing music...

DDS1's town musics were amazing.

Gosh, how could I have been so wrong about the music? I DO remember it, and I do like it.

I wouldn't put it on my ipod, but it is good game music.

The whole 'another world' lyric fit, but, the cheesy Engrish felt really out of place in that whole desolate post-apocalyptic... environment. Pretty much all the other music in the series fit iMO.

XD And just when my own copies of both games arrived the other day...

I had DDS1 before, but I borrowed it to a friend, who... had an accident with her bike and the game ended up broken :\ As it was not really able to find another copy of it around, she bought me another game I had wanted for a while, but I never forgot about Heat's "YOU ASS IS MINE!" line and how I wanted to know what would go on next...

Soon I'll be able to enjoy the story to my heart's content ^^

I remember DDS1's vocal track being pretty cool although that was written by Americans. In America.

By the way, I've beaten the Demi Fiend.

Preparing and attempting took longer than beating some RPGs. No joke, I'm thinking I spent somewhere around 15 hours on that monster.

Nocturne was awesome BECAUSE OF the minimalist approach to storytelling

Fixed that for you.

And yes, buy DDS.

Japanese DDS1 didn't use the same vocal track if I recall. Still I preferred that style over DDS2's.

Let me rephrase it then.

I usually don't like a minimalist approach to storytelling when it comes to RPGs, but Nocturne was an exception. It was one of the game's finer points actually. Hope this clarifies things.

DDS1 J used Sera's theme, with vocals. It's a lot slower and darker.

I preferred Danger(the US opening).

What WAS written by Atlus USA for the Japanese version was Persona 4's opening, and it was all the better for it.
