I can see them making some money off the game. I mean, what kind of geek wouldn't want to have an altar at home with a premium edition DNF cd resting on it?

Ummm, I think most of us would be happy finding the regular version, probably for cheap, just for the novelty of actually owning it. Making an altar is for all ten people who heavily anticipated the game from announcement and never stopped, even when presumably canceled for good.

I love how you say the "most expensive version", rather than the best version.

Given, the two usually go hand-in-hand. But it was still funny.

But it's in the same position as Prey, at this point it's officially a dead concept resurrected to make an entirely new game.

According to 3d Realms' former art director it's actually the same DNF that they were working on.

Quote
    * 3dr made a great game, couldn't finish it due to lack of funding
    * x3dr guys formed Triptych to finish DNF
    * finished the pc version
    * Gearbox helped polish the PC, ported to ps3 and 360
    * Randy P goes to PAX and tells the world GearBox saved the worlds most delayed game from extinction

More here. He seems pretty pissed off at Gearbox for taking the credit for this.

OMGZ it really exists!  If it's a total flop, there will be a lot of bitter fans to answer to....can't wait for the internet to erupt over it.

The trailer is hilarious, cheesy one-liners FTW.
