Hey guys,

I just got an iPhone 4 and I'm dying to get my hands on some SRPGs mostly, but will consider RPGs as well.

I've picked up:

War of Eastrath
Chaos Rings
Dungeon Hunter

So far...

Is there anything else out there worth getting?

For SRPGs, if you don't mind going "retro", there's always Shining Force available.  It's definitely a classic for the genre.

The only iPhone RPG I've played was the action-RPG Across Age, and it was a fun little game.

I like UNderworlds and Ravensword. And Zenonia is a good SNES styled action Adventure RPG>

I'd make some recommendations, but I'll point you to our iOS reviews section instead, since all of the games I've played are there, and since I wrote most of the reviews. :)

http://www.rpgfan.com/reviews-ipodiphoneed.html

Chaos Rings and Dungeon Hunter would have been my strongest recommendations, so I suppose if you like them, you'll know if we have similar tastes.  It's definitely more action and less RPG, but I've pimped a game called Solomon's Keep here on the boards a few times.  I love it a TON.  Just try the demo if you're not sure how you'll feel.

Another that gets pretty consistently good reviews is Ravensword.  I've been meaning to review it, but I haven't had time.

Gotta love the fact that even trying out a game and finding that you don't like it is pretty cheap on the iPhone. :)  I feel like I'm forgetting something, so I may come back and post again.

If you want an old school RPG, Vay is a good choice.

Also check out Civilization Revolutions if you want a SRPG.

Square Enix has actually come out with several of their games on the iphone. Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy 2 come to mind, and eventually FFT (and I think Secret of Mana) will come out as well.

If you never played Wolfenstein RPG, it's available, and definitely different than many of the other choices.

Civ Rev showed up on freeappaday.com once before, so it might show up again.  I got it even though I stink at that kind of game. :)

Oh - and if you've got a relatively small music library, you might want to check out Square Enix's Song Summoners.  I enjoyed it on my Nano back in the day, but when I got the iPod Touch version, the 8000 songs on my device slowed it down to a deadly crawl.

Yep, Secret of Mana is coming. They just didn't say when, they just stuck the logo inside an iPhone and called it a trailer back at E3.

Isn't Phantasy Star II out too?

I've been playing a lot of War of Eastrath and I have to say, I'm loving it.

Story is good, the characters are fun and the combat is what you'd expect from a SRPG. I recommend it for anyone who's a SRPG fan.

I'll probably write a review once I'm done.

Looks Advance Wars-y - is it that kind of game?

I'm playing some RPG-esque sims for the iPhone right now (and you "level up") within them, mostly from PocketGems.
