You kids get off my fucking yard.
I distinctly remember the first time I played it. I was five or six at the time, and I played it in an arcade cabinet outside the first Wal-Mart I had ever seen. :P

I chuckled a little to myself early this morning when I read this on Gizmodo just because he's as old as I am. Well if you want to be technical, if you count Donkey Kong, he's 29, but really who remembers Mario for that?
Happy birthday Mario, may you live to plumb your way into hearts of gamers for a while to come.

Haha, someone made a comment about how Mario is looking less pixelated in his old age.

I'm still astounded that a thirty-something(?) fat-Italian plumber who stones on mushrooms became the heart of the video game world. Let's just thrown in adjectives and adverbs here for these mascots.
Yellow maze-trotting, cherry-eating, puck man.
Blue anatomically-incorrect, rocking-speeding hedgehog.

Being 18 myself, it makes me really jealous of you folk living in the 80's.

You're talking to a metalhead who's obsessed with 80's thrash metal. The pop side of the 80's had horrid fashion, sure. But the metal side (of course, this is if you exclude glam) was epic stuff!

I would have been in the womb at the time. Beat me by a few months! Pretty damn amazing to think how much his games have progressed, and how even the old school games are fun as hell today. Now I will celebrate the only way I know how...by getting my ass kicked in Galaxy 2.

The 80s wasn't exactly my favorite era of music either.
Well..maybe not. We had pre-bizarre Michael Jackson, for one. But 80s fashion was just horrid. :P
I played SMB1 when I was like 6 or 7. Was scared of 3 when it first came out, lmao.
