Heads up:  I am not, nor have I ever been, much of a DMC fan.

To me all the bitching about Dante's new look is really silly.  The original Dante looked like he just walked off the stage of a Japanese boy band.  Honestly, while I'm not a huge fan of either the new design looks better to me.

I'm still not going to buy the game, though.

it's the big fucking CHANGE in Dante's design that bothers most. Ironically my favorite design is from the DMC I hated most - 2 - but at least 1-4 are consistent. He just looks like some emo hipster jackass instead of the half-demon badass/jackass we're used to.

After I got over that initial "what the fuck" phase of seeing a black-haired Dante, I remembered DMC2.  Although the gameplay in that was pretty fucking dull, the thing that neutered it the most in my eyes was Dante's complete lack of personality.  If they can keep the attitude we've come to know and love then I can live with the different look.

I'm gonna be optimistic for once and hope for the best. :P

+1 over greaving on him nto being a White Hair Pretty Boy anyhow, but eh, we'll see. I really liked 1 and 3, but didn't enjoy 4, and skipped out on 2. We'll see how this one goes.

I don't mind change.. it's THAT particular change. I don't like this new design, how hard is that to grasp? They could have redesigned him in a way that would still be different from DMC1-4 but looks less retarded.

But you're not going to buy it, so I'm not sure why you care.

I am aware, but my statement still stands. Japanese people may love their smokes, but it is Westerners who made the character smoke. I'm not pushed either way really, it's not like i'm going to catch passive cyber cancer. More just an observation.
