I still say nothing could be worse than DMC2 anyway. :P

That game is not even as bad as people said it is. I mean, you can easily name other games that were worse that DMC2.

I'm talking about just within the DMC series itself.

Either way, I did not think at the time it was bad. Not even as a DMC game, yes it is a weak game for the franchise standards but overall it was a interesting experiment to say the least.

I loved the first game. I remember being impressed by 2's E3 demo but the full game, I couldn't even get through, and not because it was hard. It probably wouldn't have been so meh if it wasn't a DMC game, if that makes any sense.

I really don't see the big deal. Are people mad because there is no white haired Dante or something? There hasn't even been a game play video yet.
Dante wasn't even an interesting character, he was just a douche bag with cheesy one liners. Sure he was a cool looking character, but maybe they just want to try something new without getting rid of "Dante".

Exactly, he's perfect. Give me another 5 games of Dante surfing on bad guys while chowing down on pizza and I'll be a happy guy.

Play Bayonetta. Trust me. It's better than any Devil May Cry.

from Kotaku:

No matter how much you may hate the new punk look of Devil May Cry's Dante, keep in mind it could have been worse.

After reading this I'm more interested in the reboot. But still...

You must do a good game! If not... this is going to be ugly (to say the least). And believe me when I say that; I really want that this game becomes something good or even better.

Time will tell. :(

People are canceling their preorders for Dead Rising 2 and Enslaved over this.

Stay classy, internet.

As my friend puts it, this guy sounds like your parents when they try to talk 'cool.'

Also I recall DMC coming out nine years ago, not 12.

Ninja Theory on Devil May Cry: "What Was Cool 12 (?) Years Ago Isn't Cool Anymore"

You know, I think it's pretty much official. This reboot is not for people who enjoy the other games in the series, since they are trying to appeal a whole new audience with this game.

That's not something bad or anything, but the way they are doing it is really quite annoying. Not to mention that the people behind this project doesn't really undestand what is Devil May Cry from what I'm seeing. For example, being "cool" was never the main theme of any Devil May Cry game.

If someone want to see why this series became so popular in the first place just play the original DMC and you'll see.

I thought the series was popular because of its gameplay.  You know, something that has nothing what-so-ever to do with what the main character looks like.
