Games like DMC3 and Bayonetta also require, you know, actual skill. Games like God of War? Not so much even though they're all hack n slash. I remember checking out Ninja Gaiden 3 this past E3 and thinking I should actually get the Sigma games, even if they're hard.
Sigma2 has an adjustable difficulty level which can be nice to make it a bit more accessible. Boss battles can be rough on sometimes, but still fun. I'm definitely excited for Sigma 3 too.

Tameem admits DmC isn't canon.
(This video could only be considered NSFW because really, WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH HIS HAIR? But I digress. Anyway, it's old, but I never saw this particular one til now.)

Yeah, we pretty much figured that out already.

You know, for all the shit we have been throwing at this game since day 1 is pretty admirable that they are confident in putting the game out no matter what.
Though I still wonder if this is going to sell well.

If the fighting is top notch, I dont see any reason to not get the game.

You'll get less DMC fans than if this had been a proper DMC 5, but you'll still get some of them buying it.
But after Capcom greenlights the project (which they obviously did) and you put so much time and money into it, you can't turn back now and not put the game out. It'd be a waste of all that effort and nothing to show.

That's what I say to everyone that likes God of War. But no one cares. :(
And that's because you're wrong. I feel GOW3 required a good deal of timing and use of appropriate weapons. Sure, not the average grunt that was in your way but any number of the multitudes of medium strength dudes required some skill.

They are definitely throwing DMC stuff back in by the bucketful.
Gameplay looks decent, but I'm still far from sold.

They seem to be doing a dog job with the gameplay, the graphics also look promising but I just can't come to grips with this new dante!

Eh, they got me. I'll probably buy it mostly for curiosity and the only way to enjoy this for someone who has played all the other games before might be seeing this as "an action game that happens to have the DMC name on it".
Besides, this looks way better than any modern Silent Hill game made nowadays. So that's something.

DmC: Devil May Cry "squarely competing with Bayonetta” in gameplay
Had to admit this make me chuckle a bit, but I'm intrigued since the gameplay parts in that video don't look bad. Also this remind me that I have to sell the DMC PS2 games soon before that HD Collection comes out.

I still don't know what to make of the 'story,' but, they made Ebony and Ivory look badass.
God damnit.

Release Date set for DmC: Devil May Cry
"Capcom announced today a final European and North American release date of January 15, 2013 for DmC: Devil May Cry. A Windows PC version will follow later in 2013."
Joining the date, Capcom shared screens and artwork of a character named Kat. From Capcom's official text:
"Kat is a former runaway that joined The Order very early in her life. She is a medium and a gifted psychic who can see into Limbo, the demon realm, but not directly interact with it in the way that Dante does. She is the right hand girl to the Leader of The Order and devotes her life to him, often putting herself in grave danger to gather intelligence from Limbo.
"There is a sweet innocence about Kat's world view and logic, but when it comes to her specialist subject, the demon realm, she is an undoubted expert. Kat is The Order's 'eyes and ears' and is tasked with guiding Dante on his mission through Limbo."
I'm OK with this.

I have to begrudgingly admit I enjoyed the demo at E3. I also got some 40 minutes with it, including both a tutorial level and pain in the ass of a boss who randomly refilled her life (though I have the uneasy feeling it's because I failed a QTE). The fighting is fun, Dante
sounds
like Dante, even if he still looks like the emo kid we'd all met in high school.
I still don't know what's up with the story but you know what, I'd buy this. Not sure about 'day one,' but I'd definitely buy it. I play this stuff more for gameplay, anyway.
