It's a Gundam MMO, a few years old, and the official service was cancelled way back.  There's a private server now that I've been playing on for a few months.  It actually recently got finished and is fully functional with all the features the official server had.  For those who've never heard of it, it's sandbox-ish, with a skill system similar to Ultima Online, no levels.  It's sorta like Eve Online in the sense that you buy/make your mobile suit, and when it's destroyed, it's gone for good.  You have an actual human avatar though that can get off and walk around.  As far as downsides, the interface and controls are kinda clunky, and some of the menus are in Japanese (though there's translations you can check out).  There's not a whole ton of content either, mostly skilling up, and PvP.  If you're a Gundam fan, it's a s***load of fun =D.  If any of you guys wanna check it out, the site is  http://ucgoserver.com/

Oh! One of the Japanese players (there's a lot of Japanese players) made this video to promote the server.  Check it out! =D

I'm going to check it out, although a friend just told me that there was a lot of anti-US sentiment in this game.  Whether he meant the live version or what, I don't know.

Well when the test server first came out, there were a few problems with some Japanese players PK'ing English players on their own side.  But it was dealt with.  I haven't seen or heard of any problems since then.  It didn't really make that big of a splash really.  We do PvP raids together and are both welcome to each others events.

Very good.  Well, I was able to log in, everything is great... but, I have no idea what to do.  There is only so much English used.  Do you have links to any English tutorials or anything?  My buddy is a huge Gundam fan, but I can't bait him into this with me without a commanding presence.

Yes, Yes I do =D I'll admit, the game doesn't have the most intuitive interface lol.

Here's a link to a beginner's guide from the when the official server was up:

http://gundamonline.pbworks.com/Beginners%20Guide

It's based on the Zeon side, but most of the concepts apply to both.  The one thing that has changed from official is mob locations, they're now surrounding all the supply bases which you
/transport to.

Here's a link for some menu translations:

http://nazoserver.webnode.com/english-wiki/menu-translation/

There's also a ton of info on the server site itself and the forums.  Hope this helps! =D
