Resident Evil: Revelations isn't the only BioHazard game on the way for Nintendo's latest handheld; it's been revealed at a press conference earlier today that Resident Evil: Mercenaries will also be released for the system.

It's not a new game, though; rather, it takes the popular "bonus" game modes (and maps) from Resident Evils 4 & 5, combines them and gives them their own standalone title. Only now, everything will be in 3D.

It'll also feature online multiplayer. No details on price or availability were revealed.

The 3DS has a Virtual Console for Game Boy games.

Looking at all the 3DS news now I can say that this is going to be like the definitive gaming handheld, no doubt about it. Great software lineup, GBA games to download, and more good stuff in the future.

I just got one little question about the 3DS; You can play DS games on the 3DS, right?

The line-up looks amazing but I'm not sold on 249-299, it's kinda steep for a handheld, not to mention probably the most expensive Nintendo handheld.

If developers make an effort... yes. The 3DS has potential, this is just like the Wii all over again really. Great idea, but what about the execution of that idea? The games, the marketing, etc.

But anyway, right now I'm happy with Megaman Legends 3 and Resident Evil: Revelations. Also, I wonder if Platinum Games is interested in making new games for the system.

Yeah, the price is a little steep. I don't know about you guys, but I obviously won't be needing my DS lite anymore, so that's a trade in towards the 3DS. That will knock the price down a little bit. I'm sure you all have games you don't play anymore that you could trade in towards it.
