Well, admittedly, the DS has completely ceased to produced new games, but that's because it's at the very end of its lifecycle. Anything coming out within the next year is falling through the cracks (Okamiden and Golden Sun included). The 3DS is on its way, the PSP doesn't have a successor yet.

Isn't the PSP2 in the hands of developers right now?

That's the rumour, anyway, but there certainly hasn't been anything official said about a PSP2 yet.

You think? Have you seen the comparison threads and videos for multiplatform games this gen? That kind of info is very helpful for some people.

I dont disagree, but if devs were to take a less...aggressive stance on just being pretty as can be, and work more on the technical and stable side, then maybe we wouldn't need to generally worry about, or at least worry as much, about the differences between the two platforms, and we wouldn't have certain platforms getting the shaft?

I'm no expert on the why's and how's of RPG's, nor have a read through the replies in this thread, but it seems to me the world ist leaning towards Western RPG's, and those are non-existant on the DS.

We talk about the DS being a great RPG platform because of the JRPGs; it's pretty obvious that if you want western RPGs you hit up consoles or PCs for them. With that said, I think the DS probably beats the PS3 and 360 in raw quantity (impossible to do this with PC) for whatever that's worth; the WRPGs really worth caring about come out with one or two a year roughly, though this year's actually been fairly strong there with Mass Effect 2, Alpha Protocol, Fallout New Vegas, and Fable 3. I guess you could be a snarky bastard and try to argue that some of those aren't RPGs though.

Alpha Protocol

Or we could be snarky bastards and argue that some of them are not worth caring about

I argued this on the Podcast and I'll argue it again here: despite Alpha Protocol's flaws, it is a very worthwhile game to play.  It's sort of like Arcanum: totally broken, but very fun with a great world.

Why isn't the DS getting more RPGs?

Because you touch yourself at night.

I like you, starmongoose, I feel like we understand each other on some context...
That, or I'm just emotional with all the shit I have to read with school that I'm overly sensitive to emotional stimuli because I feel none of them reading most of the time.  Being a girl is strange and emotionally bizarre.

Anyways, FUCK the DS!

...huh?
I don't even think he's been mentioned a good number of posts.
Aside from touching himself - but I believe we're all liable to that, and therefore, if Prime is correct, we are all responsible for lack of RPGs on any console.
