The PSVita is region free, right?
I'm considering importing one of them white ones
The Vita is region free with one major caveat: It only supports one PSN account at a time. That account can be in any region you want, but if you want to play stuff off both the US and JP PSN stores, for example, you would need two accounts.
This only matters for digital content. If you buy all your games physically and don't care about DLC then they'll play just fine on any Vita. And there are ways to keep account info for multiple accounts using multiple memory cards, but it's kind of a pain...
This is a minor point, but if you do import a system I believe the function of the X and O buttons are swapped for some things. Japan likes to use O to select and X to cancel (which frankly makes more sense...).
I'm waiting a bit before I get a vita, because apparently Sony is making a bundle out of the ps4/vita for $500. If so, that's an amazing deal.
Do you have any solid info on that or just high hopes?
I've heard this rumor too but absolutely nothing substantive. Seems like it might be a bit of wishful thinking that got turned into a rumor...
Though there is real evidence that there's going to be a price drop to $200 for the Vita alone soon. And that's for both wifi and 3G models, they'll be the same price (like they are in Japan already...).
