[19:42] <Mesh> lady behind me in line at Meijers thought I looked too young to be there by myself.
[19:43] <Mesh> and I got carded for buying a Parental Advisory CD.

Whoa! I was seriously just about to ask the same thing. I've always wondered where they come from. And who is talking to who in these things? It just seems odd to quote yourself.

My laptop keyboard barely works so if I say something in IRC that I want to say here too i just copypaste
Let me rewrite this.
I stumbled upon this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depersonalization_disorder
Theoretically, I totally would have that. Except that article strikes me as kind of bullshit. Case in point:
Quote
Individuals report occupational impairments as they feel they are working below their ability, and interpersonal troubles since they have an emotional disconnection from those they care about.
So, uh. 2010s America. Shitloads of people ARE working jobs below their skill level. They way society works right now is isolating people.
And this is apparently a /symptom/ of something that needs diagnosed, and not a cause in and of itself for just... broad feelings of malaise?
Shit, son, I feel like I'm not in control of my life because I'm ACTUALLY NOT IN CONTROL OF MY LIFE.
And that turns into prolonged bouts of depersonalization for me. And it's NOT because there's something wrong with me. It's just... it's a reaction to the world at large. And for me it ends up manifesting as occasional freaky ego loss events and I don't think that's at all weird.
More importantly, why the fuck is yogurt marketed at women so much?

I didn't watch any Olympics until yesterday. I was bored and flipping through the channels and stopped on Men's Volleyball, which then gave way to the VERY intriguing Men's Water Polo. Now I see the appeal
of the male athletes.

Note to self: when a girl asks "how stupid do you think I am," the correct answer is not, and will never be, "Scale of one to ten?"

Anyway, it's a dread that nobody knows the name for, like those little square plastic gizmos that close your bread bags. I don't know the name for those either."

So I finally finished moving into my new place with the girlfriend. Besides being a little nervous bout moving in with someone for the first time, things went pretty smoothly.. except for one little thing. One of the movers stole my girlfriends diamond earrings which where sitting on top of her dresser. What an ass, sadly there is not much we can do, tough the owner of the company may try to compensate us in some way.
on another note, last nights breaking bad episode was unbelievably great as always.

How can there be nothing you can do? Won't the owner of the company know which one did it depending on who was working?

Ya, he fired the guy, and felt really bad about everything. But the guy he fired wont admit to anything, and they have been unable to get the earrings back, so the manager is instead just sending us a check for how much the earrings are worth. It still sucks but the Manager seems to be a good guy, and really wants to help. I have heard worst stories about moving companies sadly.

I don't know, but pretty much every woman in our office eats it at lunch on a semi daily basis.
Also wow USA beat Canada in women's soccer 3-2. Talk about a close game.

That sucks man. If you want to go this route, you can report them stolen to the police. If you can give a decent enough description of them and they are somewhat unique (though they are earrings so they probably aren't), they can at least make note of it to a detective. Due to the boom of gold prices over the years, many places who buy gold for scrap value are required by law (city law though, I believe) to send a report to the police of everything they buy. Though again, diamond earrings might be tough to do this for unless you know the exact carat weight, color, and clarity and even then that might not be enough. Also worth noting, there are still lots of areas where you aren't required to do this yet so even if you did report it, you might be out of luck.
If the guy got fired based on your word, chances are he's done it before and the owner got sick of hearing the complaints. At least you're getting a check out of it.
