She's been at a conference on teaching students with autism for the past two days. I'm... wondering if she got a tip there that you should make it clear when you're expressing an opinion around autistic individuals, or something. And was addressing me like that because she thinks I have Asperger's.

Or she was just drunk, whatever.

Ugh, I hate it when they start acting like that. Most don't see the disorder as a spectrum. They'll stick to the worse case scenario's and end up severely underestimating many clients/patients/students as a result. Either that or they're stuck in tv land. The last psychologist I saw was expecting Spencer Reid, instead he had to deal with me. That must have been a big disappointment...

From my experience, the exceptions are researchers, possibly because they're the ones debunking all those Rainman myths.

I don't even do anything particularly autistic acting so I'm really confused :(

(I have nervous tics but that's like OCD or tourette's or something).

I work as a reference assistant at a library, and today I was assisting a 14 year old girl with getting music on her iPod. Her friend came up to her while I was helping out this girl, and the friend asks her, "Is that your dad?"

I turned 24 yesterday.


The answer is no, I'm not her father.

When I was 22, I was working at a Gamestop.  I had a goatee.  My managers were 31 and 29.  We had MULTIPLE customers refer to me as "that older gentleman who works here", thinking I was 40+.  So don't feel so bad.

Wow, that's nuts. It's weird how facial hair can age a dude years. I'm cool with it though, older dudes are distinguished and I'm good with looking distinguished.

Facial hair isn't the only thing.  Ever since I grew my hair out long people think I'm at least a couple of years older than my actual age.  I don't particularly mind, but I do find it interesting.

This is why I rarely shop on Play Asia.  Or, at the very least, it's good to fish around the net.
And for goodness sake --- I like the color, I bloody hate that phallic-nosed lantern bitch on it.

Anyways.  I'm eating pizza pockets, two of them.  A good 500 calories.  Wii U is out today, and I need energy before i deal with people at work.
Yesterday I had *three* customers who I told couldn't do an exchange because they opened their games (and they didn't like them).  But, manager comes around says to do it anyways, because we bend over to any customer needs even when they're wrong... I can't help but wonder what the point of a return policy is.

I was out hanging Christmas lights yesterday. I SO didn't feel like doing it, and really didn't get much done. I'm not sure if I would do this anymore if not for my wife and son. I would, at least, do something much more subdued and different. The whole Christmas thing really doesn't do it for me anymore.
