So I'm making the final plunge, moving in w/ my +1 soon.


As a result I've been going over every square inch of my parents place, trying to find all the games I once had that I haven't played since before 2000. I know I did loan a lot of PS1 titles to my brother, but I did keep some. I know I also loaned a lot of N64 stuff out, but not all.

Earlier in the year i found my N64 but it only had perfect dark slapped into it.

Well just now I looked in the most unlikely of boxes and came across some great loot.

GoldenEye (i had just bought a new one on sat lol), pilotwings, mario 64, and ocarina.

I also found Metal Gear Solid, Wild 9, and FF8.


A HILARIOUS surprise was Samurai Showdown and Road Rash for 3DO as well as the 3DO flightstick. and also a softcore porn game for 3do called "the coven"

Well this just makes me mad because I know the 3DO is around somewhere...(i never did get rid of it) but last I remember when I moved away the 1st time was I had packed it into a box that was sort of nondescript. And I have a feeling my parents tossed it at some point.

That makes me sad because I had the 3do version of Star Control 2... absolutely my hands down favorite game.

SC2 is awesome but the 3DO version was sort of broken. Arguably worse music and it was missing some dialogues. Which were really helpful for finishing the game.

It's pretty much considered the best version of the game. I've played through the 3do version probably 5-10 times and then the free-ware Ur-Quan Masters version a few times as well.

The race themes afaik were actually identical. It was only the travel music and... some of the combat and base music that was changed. And I don't really like the 3DO hyperspace music because basically it sounds way too much like Mannheim Steamroller with all the bells.

Regardless, the missing dialogue is sort of a big problem.

I'm pretty sure the world is made up of marker drawings on Saran Wrap and I am looking at it as it wraps around the inside of my mind. Reality is my personal plaything if I want it to be and that's terrible and my only recourse is to sit here, spitting blood and smiles through stabs of laughter.

What missing dialog is there?

Melnormes are missing some info, and the dialog leading the player to the Myconid homeworld is absent.

Also @ music I think the changes to the quasispace music bug me the most. The 3DO version is this sort of sinister thing that sounds a lot like the battle track. The original quasispace mo was this stuttering, shivery music box and xylophone thing. There are a number of reasons why I don't think it works, although the 3DO version being a lot more urgent sounding than the hyperspace theme, despite time passing at a vastly reduced rate in quasispace, is sort of part of it.

Okay, so this is probably better understood by anyone here in the UK-- I bought one of those Red Nose Day dolls today because I thought it was really cute. The thing is, when you bash it, the doll starts laughing and this is THE CREEPIEST THING EVER. It's like some kind of red, grinning blob of masochistic horror.

D: Like Red Nose Day wasn't creepy enough. I'm still traumatized by my Primary 4 teacher who shaved the hair of all the boys in class for it. I didn't WANT to do it but she preassured me and the other boys pressured me into it.

Red Nose Day is this comic relief event where people do funny stuff to raise money for charity. A lot of stores also sell red nose related things all month and the money from the sales goes to charity. Here's a video of this year's Giggler doll:
