I'm glad it didn't do more damage, but I can't fucking stand the hype this thing got here. I feel their over-preparedness came from Bloomberg completely fucking up this past winter regarding the five feet of snow we got. He didn't want to botch this.
I've been in a hurricane before. The potential for damage is too great to not hype it up and make sure people take it seriously. I'm honestly very happy with how it was handled.
Tomorrow I have class at 8 AM, this means that I need to be up by 4:30 AM so that I can shower and get ready for my 2-2.5 hour commute to school. Spent the day at a friend's house eating some amazing steak (a NY strip and porterhouse) along with some polenta, and cheese bread. Topped it off with a nice cold Hoegaarden. The weather was also incredibly beautiful and it felt really good standing in front of the grill with the beers. Great way to end the day.
