Oh, that Fan Expo in Toronto.  It's humid indoors; the people make the heat, and the sweat makes the air...moist.

Those are the worst. Dry heat is fine, but high humidity, that's when you smell everything. Including the nasty 300 pound mermaid sitting behind the table next to you... The air around her was deadly. And then there was the icecream. I stood in line for fifteen minutes to get some lovely icecream for my friend and me. When I got back to the vendor area, some volunteer stuck his finger in it! Well, we were kinda desperate, so we ate it anyway. And that's how people get sick at conventions.

What, you don't have AC?  I've been to a lot of conventions, big and small, many of which are in the summer.  The heat inside is rarely a problem...

AC is great, if it's used properly (and actually working). If doors are opened often or even kept open, there's not much the AC can do. At the con where I always died because of nasty mermaid air, someone thought it would be a great idea to open some doors to let some frech air in, because letting heat in is such an awesome way of keeping a building cool...

Running AC with windows open WILL lower the humidity though.

I don't usually get sick at E3, but I guess being in long lines didn't help if someone around me was also sick.... That two hours in the Metal Gear Rising Revengeance line would do it. =P

I caught nerd flu at E3.

I'd take your nerd flu just to experience the E3

I'd only do E3 for the swag they hand out. if they don't do that at E3 maybe a show that does do that. PAX or something. I hate lines and crowds though so I'd just walk around, get my lanyards and then maybe check out the nerd shops.

likewise, my old buddy and I would spend all weekend building a city, then late Sunday allow all natural disasters to wipe it out, good times, lol

That's awesome.  There's actually a subreddit now with the save game file so other people can try to break the stalemate.  If I still had a copy of Civ2 somewhere I would give it a go...

I'm good at generating cashflow in SC4 but bad at like, building up actual CITIES. I just end up with these suburban sprawls that look sort of muddy and half baked.

Just like my hometown.
