I watched the opening ceremonies up until the parade of nations. I wanted to see the end with the torch lighting, but the movie I was watching didn't want to end. I'll have to Youtube it. I'm not a fan of Paul McCartney, so no loss there.
I was impressed by everything up until the music./rave/love connection thing. That kinda lost me. My wife and I thought it was awesome how they highlighted the NHS. Felt like a jab right at the good ole U.S. of A.
Hopefully Danny Boyle can get back to making kick ass movies now.

It wasn't a jab at the USA at all. It was about a very immediate threat within our own country, coming from the conservative government who have repeatedly tried to dismantle the NHS in favour of privatization every time they are elected to power. It was just what the country needed to steel their faith in a national health service and fight off that cuntfaced little gremlin David Cameron.

If the USA identifies with its message, that's good, but not everything is created for the consumption of our American friends.

That's why I put "felt like". With our big health care issue going on, I can imagine a lot of righties not being happy when that part came on. I know it has nothing to do with us, but you KNOW that there are politicians who will try and make it seem so.

Rowan Atkinson was great, I'm glad they gave some sort of nod to the great comedy from the UK.

Also, during that whole kids hospital thing some of the giant characters were creepy.

I was bummed Paul sounded rough. As of late he's been sounding ok (he did at the Queen's Jubilee anyway) so I hope his health is holding up. Whatever kind of facelift he had clearly isn't holding up though, he looks like an old woman. :(

I thought it went without saying that the best looking girls in school were never on the cheerleading squad but on the volleyball team.

Got Gears of War 3 at Costco.. for $20. Couldn't say no to that!

It's so hard not to buy so much stuff there. I love Costco.

I am on absolute cloud 9 after tonight's farewell show.  I still can't believe we got to share the stage with the legendary Joe Jack Talcum (of The Dead Milkmen.)  I mean, we grew up listening to them!  And Joe Jack is the absolute nicest and most humble person ever.  What an amazing guy!  The show was killer: we had a happy fun times punk band, a punk rapper, a thrash metal band, a straightforward punk band, a living legend, and Kryovax.

I must now shed the mantle of "the chick in Kryovax" but damn if I didn't have a great time being the chick in the band!

You now have the following song stuck in your head.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwN1PI2s1CY

[16:35] <SeaOfMilk> WE ARE RIDERS
[16:35] <SeaOfMilk> RIDING SPIDERS
[16:35] <SeaOfMilk> ACTION KIDS ON GIANT SPIDERS
[16:35] <SeaOfMilk> FUCK YEAH SPIDER POWER
[16:35] <SeaOfMilk> that actually would've been an amazing show
[16:35] <SeaOfMilk> Squid would've had one of those shitty jumping spiders
[16:35] <SeaOfMilk> Reggie gets a tarantula because she's a closet lesbian.

I have no idea.
