Remember when Toys "Я" Us was fucking epic for buying videogames? Like four goddamn aisles of pure wonder?

I'm glad you went the extra mile with the backwards "R".

Their video game section was always 50/50.  If EB/GS didn't have it, they did...or didn't.  They're a mess though.

Man when I like turned 12, we didn't have a Software|Etc. in Lima yet. TRU was like, the main place to get games locally. WAY moreso during the SNES era though. Now, KMart used to have a good stock of used stuff, and KBToys or Service Merchandise had some things too. Walmart and Meijers were great for PSX/GB/GBC stuff here but not so much SNES.

LOVED Funcoland, but the only ones I got to much were in Columbus, OH or Florence, KY. Dayton had a Funco till I was like 20. That was weird.

I'd buy GB games from Target on vacation. Lima still doesn't have a Target. Columbus has... 3 or 4.

Party was a success in general, but people didn't drink enough beer!  We still have at least 40-50 beers between two fridges at our place.

I loved the old FuncoLand near me - it was where I bought my SNES, PS1, and Dreamcast and several of my favorite games growing up.  There was also a great independent store near me called Starland that went out of business while I was still in college, around 2008 or thereabouts.  Sad to see it go.  Sadder to see all the old game chains combine into GameStop so they could fend off the Best Buys and Wal-Marts.

Now that's just cruel. Mr and Mrs. Patient should have thought better than to name their daughter Hysterectomy.

No kidding. You could have told me that's the BB&B closest to where I grew up in Virginia and I'd have believed you.
