Even though Brazil beat Spain as thoroughly as they did Italy, the match was a lot more fun to watch.

Power has been out for a few hours now. We were all just enjoying the evening, doing our thing, when there was a loud BOOM throughout the neighborhood, followed immediately by our power goibg out. Seems like the wind blew a tree branch into a wire, which then may have caused a transformer to blow. Power jus are still out there now trying to fix it. Hope it's back on soon. Spoiled food sucks.
My phone is almost dead, too. Waa.

Visited my sister and her family in Columbus over the weekend. Me her and her two young kids went to the COSI on Saturday, which was a lot of fun for the kids. For those who don't know, COSI is a science museum with mostly interactive exhibits. It's aimed at kids but isn't too kiddy that adults can't enjoy. I was very impressed with their Adventure exhibit, which was a self-contained area that was built like a maze and you had to find and solve puzzles to collect symbols necessary to unlock a door in the end. The overall effect of the exhibit reminded me a lot of Myst.

Today me, my sister, her husband and her kids visited a really nice comic book store and I picked up a few titles to try out: the latest relaunch of X-Men and the first volume of Saga. Overall a really great weekend!

I went to the Columbus Zoo once. I had a stellar time. People give Ohio a hard time for some reason but I like it.

YOU SHOULD'VE GONE TO COMFEST >:CCCCC

Also which comic store were you at anyway?

I need to go back to COSI sometime. I haven't been there since I moved here.

Rural/suburban western Ohio is generally pretty shitty -- anything west of Columbus and north of the Dayton end of the Cinn-Day corridor basically. It's like Indiana Part 2.

I'm not a fan of the black swamp area either.

I have seriously never spent much time in the eastern part of the state at all.

Power came back on around 10:45. 4 hours without. Nothing spoiled, so that's good. Just wasn't able to play my game or read like I wanted to. First world problems, right?
My wife and I did the Shakespeare under the stars thing again Saturday night. We saw a play called Cymbeline, which I had never heard of. They changed the setting from Britain to the Civil War South. Same overall story. It was fun. It was also cold and windy out. Bizarre. Everyone was in coats or covered in blankets.
3 work days, then 4 days off. Not bad.

We were going to go to Comfest on Sunday, but after the busy day Saturday, no one was really wanting to do much on Sunday, and I was ready to head home. I do want to go one year though.

The comic shop was The Laughing Ogre over in Clintonville, which is where my sister and her family lives. Being in Columbus and driving around with my sister really makes me want to move there. It was really awesome to see houses where people were hanging their rainbow flags out on their lawns and on their porches.

I grew up in Northeast Ohio, near Wooster, and it's pretty much Amish country. It's really pretty but really dull.

Yeah, Pride Week was last weekend :D

Hilliard and Dublin are kind of boring and yuppy though. Also millions of pointless roundabouts.

My neighbours on my floor decided to have a bbq. Which generally means they bring a bunch of meat and then get shitfaced.
Which is what happened to me. Luckily I avoided being dragged to the norae bang (equivalent to karaoke) because I have to be at work at 9am.
Goddamn though, if you ever get a chance to try Korean Soju, don't.
Stay away at all costs.
Good lord the stuff is fucking evil.

Woo! Happy Birthday Agent!

I'm going in to get my toe looked at hopefully today. I have a giant gash along side one of my toenails that hasn't even tried to start healing in the last two weeks.

Ingrown, perhaps? I had a few when I was a teenager. Could be infected if it's not healing. Just a guess.
